Relye contains Bromfenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for ocular pain, inflammation, and redness.
Adults:
As 0.07% or 0.09% ophthalmic solution: Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) once daily, beginning 1 day before cataract surgery and continuing for 14 days postoperatively.
Alternatively, as a 0.09% solution: 1 drop twice daily, starting 24 hours after cataract surgery and continuing for 14 days during the postoperative period.
Instructions for Use:
This medicine is for external ophthalmic use only.
Wash hands thoroughly before use.
Instill the prescribed number of drops into the lower eyelid without touching the dropper tip.
Apply gentle pressure to the inner corner of the eye (near the nose) for 1 minute to minimize systemic absorption.
Wait 5–10 minutes before applying any other eye medication.
Discard the bottle 4 weeks after opening.
Most effects are temporary; consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.
Concurrent use with ophthalmic corticosteroids may increase the risk of delayed healing or corneal complications.
Relye is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Bromfenac or any other ingredient in the formulation.
